Paul Reed Smith Bodega Bay Birdseye Ltd Edition - 2009
By Paul Reed
Well, I opened the case of this guitar and was greeted by an awesome birdseye top in a cool honey/butterscotch clear coat! What a great-looking guitar! 24 frets with the birds floating along the fretboard, interesting to note are the chrome parts with a smidge of gold here and there, such as, pole piece screws, tuner buttons, saddles and bridge plate screws; it’s a nice touch and not too gaudy. These were a Limited Edition in 2009 and only 40 of them were ever made! That makes this one very collectible. The guitar itself plays real good, (as usual for a PRS), is set up with 11’s and also features coil-splitting by pulling up the tone knob. The 1957/2008 pickups sound very nice with a sweet tone but also have some nice grunt when pushed. Condition is very good albeit some very light player wear but it looks like this one has been well-looked after. Weight is 8.51 lbs. Comes with OHSC and COA.
