Fender Custom Shop Telecaster La-Riata 1993
Well you don’t see these too often! Only 16 of these were made by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder George Amicay in 1993 to commemorate the Guitar Center’s 29th Anniversary. This one is number 4! The hand-carved work on this Tele is amazing; Swamp Ash body has some very ornate carved steers head & cactus with rope binding which is also on the headstock; even the Fender logo is carved to look like rope! The pickguard is made of leather and hand tooled as well and also looks stunning.
The guitar itself is a beauty and features a nice fat “C” shape bound neck that feels amazing and it has inscribed inlays on the fingerboard as well. Pickups sound incredible and are wired out of phase in the middle position to give some added Tele twang!
This one has a changed bridge from a previous pickup addition which used an additional jack plate and it has two filled holes on the on the leather pickguard, all electronics are original.
Not only is this a rare and very cool Telecaster but it’s also a great playing and sounding guitar as well. Comes with a HSC.
