Gibson EB-2 Bass Sparkling Burgundy - 1968
The EB-2 bass is the king of old-school plunky basses! Those bass lines you hear over old-movie car chase scenes, or film scores in general, come to mind when I play this beast! Fat and woody with some gorgeous airiness that you can only get with those hollow wings! Push the little button, that looks like a missing knob, and look out; you'll be treated to some sub-sonic bottom-end craziness that will eventually pop your eardrums! The neck is a joy to play; chunky but very comfortable with a great action too. The colour on the back of the neck is akin to freshly erupted, hot molten lava! The body has a gorgeous colour too, originally Sparkling Burgundy that has faded to a fantastic, almost gold-top patina! All in all, a cracker late 60’s bass! The only change I can see is a couple of small holes on the back of the headstock, everything else looks spot-on. Comes with its original hard shell case.
