Regal Montgomery-Ward Resonator - circa 1935
Regal made these cool resonators for the big USA chain store, Montgomery Ward. These have the “Wards” gold sticker on the inside that can be seen through the F hole. This one is in pretty good shape for its age and features a huge “V” shape neck and a glorious woody resonator tone that, when played, could be mistaken for a Ry Cooder film score! This old beast has a great vibe; lovely original light honey-burst finish with some mild checking in the lacquer. It has a few rattles here and there, due to its age and the nut has an extension metal nut that sits over the original bone nut so you could take this off and have a better playing action if you want to play chords. All in all, this is a nice vintage resonator which has a nice vintage, woody tone! Comes with OHSC.
