Reliance G. Houghton & Sons Parlor Guitar - 1950
This guitar is a mysterious one - Reliance Guitars were made in Birmingham England in the early to mid 1900s by makers G. Houghton and Sons, who built guitars for various brands. The Reliance brand is believed to be the brand they built for themselves, making it a very unique little piece of history! This particular example is in incredible condition for its age. Setup for slide by choice rather than the need for a neck reset, it is quite playable for standard fretting as well. The solid neck gives it that authentic rich tone. This guitar is very cool and a little bit “Peaky Blinders” given it’s from Birmingham! Something different and very cool! Comes with it original “Poodle” style case.
