Wow; that’s what I said when I opened the case of this one for the first time! (actually, my words were a little bit more colourful than that. 😊) Speaking of colourful; 1965 was a colourful year for cars, advertising, fashion and guitars! This one was top of the range back in ’65 and features an original Cardinal Red custom colour finish with 3 gold-plated mini humbuckers. (with the price of gold the way it is, I might just get a razor blade and scrape that gold-plating off! Nah, just kidding). This is a wonderful guitar with a fantastic neck, not too heavy; weight-wise, it’s light to medium at 7.42lbs/3.37kg and has some great toneful sounds coming out of those 3 pickups. Original wiring has the neck and bridge pickups by themselves and the middle position has the bridge and middle wired out of phase. Even playing it unplugged it has a great resonant tone. All original with no breaks, mods or any other funny business; this is a true collectible vintage guitar! It comes with a non-original hardshell case.
